Hi, I’m Garrett Coan, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in couples and marriage therapy. I help couples who feel stuck in the same painful arguments, emotional distance, or loss of trust find a clear path forward — even when things feel overwhelming or hopeless.
Most couples come to me feeling exhausted, disconnected, and unsure whether their relationship can improve. They’ve tried talking things through on their own, but nothing seems to change. My role is to help you understand what’s actually happening underneath the conflict, and then guide you toward practical, lasting change.
My approach is structured, supportive, and focused on real progress — not endless talking or assigning blame. Therapy is collaborative and purposeful, with an emphasis on helping couples understand their patterns and respond differently to one another.

Many couples tell me they feel calmer, clearer, and more hopeful after just a few sessions because they finally understand why things keep going wrong — and what to do differently.
Whether your relationship feels mildly strained or deeply fractured, you don’t need to be “on the brink” to benefit from couples therapy. Many couples come in simply because they want things to feel better — calmer, safer, and more connected.
I work from evidence-based, emotionally focused and attachment-informed models of couples therapy. Sessions are practical and structured, with a focus on helping you feel safer, more connected, and more understood — both in session and at home.
Couples often appreciate that I:
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with years of experience helping couples navigate complex emotional and relational challenges. I believe relationships can heal when people feel safe enough to be honest — and supported enough to change.
Seeing couples move from anger, sadness, or disconnection toward warmth, trust, and closeness is the most rewarding part of my work.
